Blackening seasoning is flavorful mix of dry spices that gives dark spiced crust to meat or fish when seared dusted with it.
I like to use following combination to make my homemade Blackening Seasoning.
Blackening Seasoning for Fish/Seafood/Poultry/Meat:
1/2 tsp Thyme
1/2 tsp Oregano
1/4 tsp Cumin Powder
1 tbsp Kosher Salt
1 tbsp Black Pepper (freshly ground)
1/2 tsp Smoked Red Pepper
1/2 tsp Cayenne Pepper (use 1/4 tsp if you like less spicy food)
1 tsp Onion Powder
1 tsp Garlic Powder
1/2 tbsp Red Pepper Powder (or paprika)
1/4 tsp Coriander Powder (optional)
