Pasta and Beans Soup

Pasta Fagioli
Diet Info: DF GF F LF Na LS VG V Fa

Pasta e fagioli or pasta fagioli, meaning "pasta and beans", is a traditional style vegetarian (meatless) Italian soup. Healthy and delicious, this soup is packed with goodness of vegetables and hearty tasty beans. Serve with a crisp salad and a hot italian garlic bread and you have a meal!

You are going to love this one! This soup is so full of flavor and you can have it on the table in about 40 minutes.

If your kids do not like beans, you can puree the beans like I did in this recipe. Or if you like keep beans whole.

  2. I do not take it as criticism @Cinizia. I am glad you spent time on my website. I also love to explore different cuisines and try to improve my cooking knowledge as I go on with my passion to learn and develop healthy and penne worth meals for my family and friends. I look forward to try some of your recipes. Thanks, ChefdeHome.
  3. It was not a criticism, but as I read: Pasta and beans written in Italian, not "bean soup", I thought you were talking about the original. Everyone has their own taste :) I do not like when people are writing in the blog: "Italian style", when there is nothing about Italy in it. The best healthy diet, as everyone knows, is the Mediterranean, based on natural ingredients and healthy. But anyway, I like to read of cuisines from other countries, and your blog make me curious. I will try to do some recipes. Bye for now. Cinzia ^^
  4. Thanks for providing this information Cinzia. Certainly all recipes here in my website have my personal healthy touch. My touch makes this soup a one pot healthy meal which my readers can enjoy for one pot dinner or lunch. Also in description, I am introducing Pasta e fagioli to my readers, I am not telling them that I am making the original only pasta e fagioli from Italy.

  6. This is not the original Pasta e fagioli. In Italy we do not use bay leaf, celery, carrots or others seasoning or vegetables.Garlic is ok,but not onion. This is just your style pasta e fagioli (always written with the conjunction "and").
