Savory Yogurt Lassi
Savory Yogurt Lassi is best treat for you in scorching heat of summer. Served chilled, this salted yogurt drink can also be made with buttermilk. However, I prefer to use low fat yogurt and water to make lassi at home. Cooling and healthy with all goodness of probiotics for your stomach, this drink is best accompaniment for a heavy lunch or brunch in summer season.

Savory Yogurt Lassi
Total Time Prep Time Cook Time Serves 2

Ingredients

  • 1 Cup Yogurt  (Low Fat)
  • 1 Cup Water  
  • 1/2 tsp Black Pepper  (Freshly Crushed)
  • 1/2 tsp Salt  
  • 1 tbsp Cilantro  (very fine chopped)
  • 3 tbsp Chickpea puffs (Pakodi)  (Optional)

Directions

  • Step for Recipe - Savory Yogurt Lassi
    1. Blend yogurt and water in a blender. Let it chill in refrigrator for sometime. Just before serving, add in salt, crushed black pepper, cilantro. Mix it well. Add it to serving glasses and top each glass with 1-2 tbsps of Chickpea Puffs.Enjoy.
    Additional Notes
    If yogurt is little too sour for your taste then add 1 tsp of sugar while blending the yogurt and water.
Savita's Notes:
To save time, blend yogurt and water ahead of time and keep in refrigrator. Mix salt and other ingredients just before serving.
