Healthy Family Movie Night Snacks

Today, I'm here to share with you some delicious, and healthy Movie Night snacks! This season, let's ditch the popcorn and serve something exciting and new to enjoy for family-time together. Like baked tortilla chips, crisp roasted chickpea popcorn and carrot fries! yum! I'm bringing my family's movie night experience to you with my tax refund dollars well-spent in Walmart Family mobile service!!

Remember? I shared with you in my previous post about buying Samsung On5 phone with Walmart Family Mobile Plus plan! This plan comes with one free movie credit every month! We had a blast last weekend, perks of buying this plan, by enjoying an almost-free movie night! Since movie came free, all we had to do is.. create the ambiance, prepare some snacks and enjoy! First weekend of spring could not have been any better!

Baked Carrot Fries for low carb movie snacks

...soon I got busy preparing the snacks!

Serving popcorn for snacking or ordering a pizza is so cliche for Movie Nights! Isn't it?

So, I wanted to serve something different and healthier! Look at these mini-snack-buckets! These might look filled of fried-food but actually these are not!!! Just 3 tbsp of oil used for 6 servings of these snacks!! Nothing is fried, everything is baked with hint of spice, lemon, garlic! Plus, served with cooling yogurt dip! AmaZing! Right?

Oh, and everything has been baked almost at the same time too! Feel free to call it 3 snacks or 3-in-1 snack! Since these were to be served together! I decided to cook these in a way that I have to work less and get more time to spend with family... sipping drink, watching movie, and chit chatting! (check more options at the end of post for more party snack ideas!)

Healthy movie snacks roasted chickpeas carrot fries and baked chips

Oh and these small Ice Cream cups (a.k.a snack buckets) are my favorite to serve snacks! Specially for movies or events where kids are guests. :) Instead of serving a big bucket of popcorn, these small cups are easy to refill, make great presentation and makes cleanup easier. I even declare to kids; if they want to enjoy ice cream after snacking? Then, hold on-to your ice cream cups! ;) (promise of ice cream means kids will follow what you say!)

Now, let's check the recipes!

Like I said, even though, all these make individual healthy snack.. These go great together. Plus you can make all at once which is huge time saver when hosting a party!

Pat dry chickpeas with paper towel.
In a bowl, coat chickpeas with seasonings and olive oil. Spread on baking sheet.
Bake for 22-25 minutes or until crunchy and brown. (keep an eye last 2-3 minutes, don't let'em burn!)

Baked Tortilla Chips

Ingredients:
5-6 Tortillas, cut into rectangles
1 tbsp Olive Oil
1/2 tsp Salt
1/2 tsp Cumin Powder
1/2 tsp Paprika

Note: To make snack more interesting, I also added few (not a lot) potato chips in each box. And a little surprise of organic dried mango strips. If you can't find those?  Feel free to use any other dried fruit or nuts. Such as raisins, almonds, or cranberries.
