Spicy Grilled Tofu is perfect meal for everyone who would like to eat healthy for dinner today. Yes, my Spicy Grilled Tofu recipe comes with a health promise. Tofu is marinated in a flavorful, spicy yet very simple marinade, then grilled. And served with side of fresh grilled vegetables that are so crisp and fresh. I consider it a perfect lite meal, however you can serve some grilled bread on side as well.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 lbs Tofu (Extra Firm Tofu - Use 1 pound if you like two slice per person )
  • 1/4 Or 1/2 lbs Mix Vegetables (Sweet Peppers, Carrots, Zucchini)
  • 2 tbsp Rice Vinegar
  • 1 tbsp Garlic (paste or fine grated)
  • 1/2 tsp Cayenne Pepper
  • 1/2 tsp Salt (adjust as per taste)
  • 1/2 tsp Black Pepper
  • 4 tbsp Olive Oil
  • 1 tbsp Grill Mates Chicken Seasoning

Directions

  • 1. Wrap Tofu in paper towel to soak water and pat it dry. I prefer to grill whole piece of Tofu about 4 ounce because large steak like piece handles hot grill very well.
  • 2. Trim the veggies, remove seed or slice in half per your liking. In a wide bowl, mix all ingredients except oil. Add oil at a slow stream and whisk continuously to make vinaigrette like marinade. Add tofu in marinade and leave for 5-10 minutes.
  • 3. When grill is hot, spray some oil and place the Tofu Steak. In meantime, add veggies to same marinade bowl and set aside. Let Tofu sear for 5 minutes, then lift it with wide spatula and tilt it to 90 degrees to get famous diamond grill marks. Repeat the same for other side. Brush some marinade on tofu in-between to keep it moist and also tofu will absorb some good flavor. At this point, grill you veggies while keep brushing some marinade. Remove veggies from grill while they are still crunchy but has char.
  • 4. This is a complete meal however you can also serve some grilled bread on the side. Enjoy!!!

If you decide to use 1 pound tofu instead of 1/2 pound, then double marinade quantity in equal proportion.
