Place a heapful teaspoon of potato mixture in the centre and fold diagonally, pinching at the edges to create turnovers (triangle in shape)
-
5. Place puff pastry turnovers on baking sheet / silicon mat lined baking tray leaving 1" space between adjacent puff pastry turnovers. Brush egg on the open side of turnovers for golden brown turnovers.6. Bake at 425° F for 15 minutes or till puff pastry turnovers are golden brown and flaky.
Additional Notes
The oven must be preheated to a high temperature, usually 400° to 450° F. If the oven is not hot, the butter will melt and the moisture will evaporate before steam can create layers.
Savita's Notes:
To handle Puff Pastry dough, always work on a lightly floured surface. If using homemade dough, take a piece and roll it out to the thickness of 3-4 sheets of copier paper. If using commercial puff pastry, thaw it on kitchen counter for 30 minutes or in refrigerator for 2-3 hours.© Chef De Home. All contents and images are copyright protected.
